Remembering our beloved leader Kanshiram ji on his third death anniversary
As a tribute to Manyavar Kanshiram ji (March 15, 1934- October 9, 2006) I am posting a poem written by Ram Babu Gautam who now lives in New Jersey, USA and has contributed enormously towards the empowerment of our community by opening many primary schools, libraries and Buddhist viharas in Uttar Pradesh. He is the founder member of Ambedkar Literary Vision (formed in 1991) and has been carrying forward the activities of ALV with the support of many Ambedkarites both from India and abroad.
आओ सजा दें आज धरा पर, कांशीराम के बलिदानों को |
जिसने सोती कौम जगायी, जगा दिया मेरे अरमानों को |
The only politician-leader who traversed the entire length and breadth of the country on bicycle and brought an everlasting revolution
ना कोई अस्त्र चलाया तुमने,
ना कोई हथियार उठाया था,
वुद्धि-विवेक की कलम शिरोमणि,
ऐसा ये हथियार चलाया था,
गाँव-गाँव साईकिल यात्रा से,
सोते दलितों को जाय जगाया था,
सदियों के शोषित- समाज को,
दौड़-दौड़कर जा समझाया था,
फिर लहराया परचम पंचशील का,
मुकुट बनाया इनकी शान को ||
आओ सजा दें आज धरा पर—
जाति- भेद के उच्छेदों पर,
कांशीराम ने ध्यान लगाया था,
सत्ता की उन्मादी संस्कृति पर,
शाशन करने को जोर चलाया था,
कैसे तोडेंगे पडी वेडियों को,
रात-रात सोच फिर समझाया था,
मुक्त करें इन हथकडियों को,
मिल- जुलकर के पाठ पढाया था,
फिर डी एस- फॉर बना बढाया कारवां,
बढाया बाबा के सम्मान को ||
आओ सजा दें आज धरा पर—
शोषित- समाज की सेवा में,
जीवन का हर कदम बढाया था,
घर - परिवार के लोगों से,
रिश्ते- नाते तोड़ नहीं शर्माया था,
दीन-दुखी की देख हीन- दुर्दशा,
वक्त की मार से भरमाया था,
दीना भाई के अधिकारों के प्रति,
लगी नौकरी लात मारकर आया था,
फिर १४ अप्रैल- छुट्टी का बिगुल-बजा,
जगाया जन-जन के अभिमान को ||
आओ सजा दें आज धरा पर—
कितने साथ चले लड़ने को,
कांशीराम सेना का अनुयायी था,
ये “देश हमारा- राज तुम्हारा”,
नहीं चलेगा नारा एक लगाया था,
तप, त्याग, तपस्या करने वाली,
माया बहिना को साथ में पाया था,
बढ़ा होंसला जन - जन का,
बहिन में सत्ता का विश्वाश जगाया था,
फिर वह बलिदानी दलित- नायिका,
सच में समझी कांशीराम के पैगाम को ||

There comes a few moments in life,when one feels short of words,howsoever strong vocabulary one might posses of.
This is a good poem and tribute to Manyavar Kanshiram ji. I would like to thank Gautam ji for the great work. Kanshiram ji devoted his life to give awareness to people and formed own party (BSP) for all of us. He was the one who brought Dr. Ambedkar in everyone’s living room. Now it’s time to work together and help BSP win big.

Kanshiram was a true leader of the masses. Kanshiram was “Aam Aadmi” who traveled in bicylce.
This poem is a good effort and I am looking forward mature poems from dalit sides. And I want to see poems beyond the history and full of visions and insertion ideas. I am thankful to Gautam for this poem and encourage him to write more and more very poetic and positive.

Kanshi Ram Ji was one of the person without whom the history of modern India can not be completed. He is one of the person who spread Dr. Ambedkar and Ambedkarism to all Dalit people. He was always in favour of Bahujan Hitay and Bahujan Sukhay.
Shri Kanshi Ram Ji was the only person after Dr. Ambedkar who realised the empowerment of SC/ST/OBC not to be mentioned only in constitution but also into real life roles in Politics , Technology and world Academics. He is the contemporary person who realised the dream of all BAHUJAN SAMAJ becoming key figures into bureaucracy , parliament , multinationals and academics. Today BAHUJAN SAMAJ’s head is held high because of him and Ms. Mayawati in entire world. I would love to speak in front of thousands of of my village freinds and relatives who are still direction less and without no reason are supporting those who cursed Babasaheb by writing “Worshipping false gods” and just showing dramatic emotions …eating and talking with Dalits…for few hours. Only political party in India who carries the responsibilities of Bahujan Samaj fortune is National Party BSP……….. JAI BHEEM………wish all Bahujan Samaj be happy , prosperous and play a key role in development of India as super power…and most developed country of the world.
